Destination Imagination

Brian and our neighbor, Sherri, coached a DI team this semester. It is an imaginative building competition for 3rd through 5th graders. The kids had to design, build and write a script for an unlikely attraction to demonstrate scientific principles. They made reindeer bumper cars in the desert using magnets. Amanda was voted to be the narrator for the group as well as their robot character in the script which were both of the main speaking parts. Pretty impressive for her considering there were couple 5th and 4th graders on her team! They competed in the regional tournament at a high school last weekend. Although they did not place high enough to advance to state they placed 4th in their category. They were also the highest scoring team from their school (Parkside Elementary had seven teams competing in the tournament.)

Happy Birthday Aunt Lori!

Baseball

Jake started baseball practice this week with Leander little league. Coaches say he did great and has good hand-eye coordination. He enjoyed it and was impressed with the field lights as it got dark!
